Acne Home Remedies and Treatments
Acne is a common disease found on our skin. This disease occurs in areas where there are a lot of oil producing glands called sebaceous glands. Oil that was produced passes out to the skin through follicles. Acne occurs when there is a clogging problem with the follicle and there are various ways for a follicle to have these types of problems. Knowing these problems will help in the treatment of acne.
Acne may be caused by a blockage due to dust particles. Dust clogs up the follicles and the oil isn’t able to flow freely. The body will recognize this as a problem and will react to it. The immune system will then trigger, causing various body substances to fight and try solving the problem. A person with acne will have inflammation and pain because this is how the body reacts to external substances that invade the system. Bacteria may also invade the body system and trigger the immune response.
To manage acne, one may consult a dermatologist for proper consultation and treatment. As there are many causes to acne, there are also various ways to cure and manage acne. Commercial products such as facial scrubs, ointments, and washes can all help in managing acne. Acne home remedies are also available for those with a tight budget. Simple recipes can be commonly found in beauty and cosmetic related books, magazines, and even on the internet.
Everyday substances that we can find in the grocery store can actually be used to manage acne. Pure honey from the grocery store is beneficial to the body. Honey is nature’s antibiotic, it has been proven to have a curing effect on wounds and it reduces bacterial counts. Putting honey directly on the acne will reduce bacteria numbers significantly.
Toothpastes have also been proven to assist in acne management because of its cooling/soothing effect. Application of toothpaste draws out impurities from the skin and also dries it up. Applying the toothpaste directly over the pimple will dry it up and reduce pimple size.

Mint also has a curing effect on pimples. The acidity of vinegar reduces bacterial counts. Making a paste out of aspirin and water then applying it over the pimple for a few minutes is another home remedy that some people use. After application of the aspirin, redness and swelling is significantly reduced due to astringent effects of aspirin.
