Is Clean Eating The Next Diet Revolution?
Most people are sick to death hearing about the next new diet craze. It seems that almost every month there is some new information on the trick to losing weight through some new fruit or meal combination. Now there is something called clean eating. I didn’t know the food I was eating was dirty and now I have to eat clean?
So I began to learn more about this clean eating diet. It turns out that it is nothing more than eating healthy. It used to be called eating normally when I was growing up. Now it’s eating healthy or eating sensibly. The fact is, most people don’t seem to be doing either one. The funny thing is that as simple as it sounds it is anything but easy.
As it turns out, the more I read the more interested I became. So what is clean eating? It is simply eating foods as close to their natural state as possible. Sounds simple right? Hardly, Food is big business, do you really think the multi-national conglomerates are going to relinquish the throne just so you and I can eat healthy, I doubt it. You see, it is much cheaper and more profitable to process the heck out of food, package it, and add enough preservatives so even a cockroach won’t eat it. The next step is to add a ton of sugar and salt so we won’t notice all of the chemicals they use.
So if you have been wondering why you can’t seem to lose weight then wonder no more. The cards are stacked against you when it comes to healthy food that is in its natural state, which is cheap and readily available. So now we have to come up with crazy ideas like a clean eating meal plan and clean eating recipes because the average person doesn’t even know how to eat healthy anymore.
Here are some examples of what you might find in an eat clean diet. For protein you will see lean chicken, fish, lean beef, and even tofu. For fat there will be olive oil, flax seed oil and the natural oils found in raw nuts and coldwater fish like salmon. For carbohydrates you might see foods like oats, whole wheat, vegetables, and fruits. Any whole grain counts as a complex carbohydrate which is the preferred, more natural carb. For the snacks: eating raw nuts and seeds, fruits, vegetables, yogurt, and cottage cheese are some examples.
As you can see eating right was right all along, it’s just too bad that it takes some clean eating health craze to remind us of that fact.
